Brand

Many points, one structure.

The identity is typographic, and it has one device: the assembly — scattered dots resolving into a solid rule. An ecosystem of separate people becoming something that holds together is the association's whole argument, so it is also the mark, the section divider, and the favicon. Everything else is type, hairlines and restraint.

The device

The assembly

The inverse of IIDA's device. IIDA cuts a notch out of a rule — a white space left in a system. ABAIA's dots join one — many points becoming a structure. The two marks argue with each other on purpose.

Dots at the left, a solid line at the right, a gap where one becomes the other. It appears in exactly four places: the wordmark's underline, the section divider, the favicon, and the homepage lattice. It is not a texture — one assembly per surface, never stacked, never used as a border.

The mark

  • The mark is live type — the wordmark in Bricolage Grotesque 800 over the assembly rule — and scales with font-size.
  • The rule stays peacock on every surface; the wordmark takes the surface's ink. Never recolour the rule, never separate it from the word.
  • Clear space: half the wordmark's height on all sides. Minimum size: whatever keeps the dots distinct — below that, use the wordmark alone.
  • The expansion — All Bharat Artificial Intelligence Association — sets in mono beside the mark where space allows, and drops before the mark ever shrinks to fit it.

The icon is the assembly grown into a lattice — six points joined into a network over the rule they resolve to. It is the favicon, the avatar and the app icon. Every file, both directions, is under downloads.

Documents

The brief's pages carry the real type baked in, so they survive any machine. The deck template is editable text — slide 2 says which fonts to install first.

Logos

SVGs carry outlined glyphs — no font needs to be installed to use them, and they scale to any size. Generated by npm run logo from the same tokens as this page.

Colour

Every value below is parsed from src/styles/global.css when this page builds — the swatch and the site cannot disagree. The rule that matters most: peacock speaks for the brand; amber speaks only for live state. An amber CTA or an amber decoration is a bug, not a choice.

Display

Bricolage Grotesque

Headlines and the wordmark. Weight 800, tight tracking, no caps-lock shouting.

India’s AI ecosystem, assembled.

Body

Newsreader

Running text. A serif, because the association argues in sentences, not slogans.

var(--body)

A national, non-profit association assembling India’s AI founders, professionals, enterprises and investors.

Labels & data

JetBrains Mono

Eyebrows, tables, dates, counts — anything that behaves like data.

All three are open faces served from the site itself — no licences to chase. Roles never swap: a mono headline or a display-face data table reads as someone else's page.

The family

ABAIA & IIDA

ABAIA and its research initiative IIDA share bones and differ in skin: the same three type roles, the same spacing rhythm, the same component grammar — so the two sites read as kin. What differs is deliberate: IIDA's paper runs warm where ABAIA's runs cool, IIDA's accent is its own where ABAIA's is peacock, and the devices are inverses — a notch cut out of a rule against dots joining one.

IIDA's own guidelines live at iidalabs.org/brand. Questions, or a use neither page answers: info@abaia.org.
